GOLF COURSE MANAGEMENT INTERN JOB NOTICE
Educational Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in or graduating from a turf management or related program.
Experience Requirements:
Golf course maintenance experience preferred, but not required. We are prepared to provide students with the training and skills necessary for the position.
Special Requirements:
We are seeking summer interns interested in improving their skill set for a career in golf course management. Applicants must have a positive attitude and be willing to work 50+ hours per week.
Duties:
Interns will be exposed to all aspects of the operation, including, but not limited to: course setup, fertilizer and pesticide application, irrigation repair, hand watering, agronomic plan management, green committee meetings, crew scheduling and budget preparation.
Salary:
$11 per hour plus overtime

Housing on site, golfing privileges, GCSAA dues paid

Walpole CC has established a solid track record of preparing interns with the necessary skills to reach the next level of their professional development and beyond. Each student is required to establish a set of mutually agreeable goals and objectives for the internship, outlining specific skills and competencies. The goals and objectives are then monitored to ensure interns stay on track with their development during the season. To round out the experience, field trips are conducted to offer interns the opportunity to view maintenance practices at other clubs and meet area superintendents.
